Earlier this week, the Indiana Primary Health Care Association (IPHCA) sent a letter to Governor Braun of Indiana to request temporary protections for Hoosiers affected by flooding and severe weather in August 2026. The letter requests a temporary grace period for Medicaid renewals and procedural terminations for communities who have lost homes, vehicles, food, documents, electricity, and employment.

Indiana Health Centers joins IPHCA and other community health centers across the state to request this flexibility for disaster-impacted Hoosiers.

“Hoosiers affected by these natural disasters may not be able to respond to a Medicaid redetermination notice, especially if they have been displaced from their homes,” said Ann Lundy, Chief Executive Officer of Indiana Health Centers. “We are asking for flexibility for our patients and members of our communities who have been devastated by these natural disasters.”
