IHC Lawrence County WIC

The WIC Program (Women, Infants, and Children) offers services to women who are pregnant, new mothers, women in early postpartum period, infants, and children to the age of 5. Indiana Health Centers’ WIC staff includes nurses, dietitians, lactation consultants, and nutrition assistants at no cost to those who qualify.

Judith Berndt-Lorenzen has been the WIC coordinator for Lawrence County for 32 years. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. She is committed to helping pregnant women, infants, and children improve their lives through healthier lifestyle choices by providing education on adding nutritious foods to a daily diet, preventative health care, and breastfeeding peer counseling.  Judith also supports the community with a Maternal Child Health grant, providing support, referrals, and education to pregnant and postpartum women, with the goal of empowering them in their role as new moms to help create happier and healthier families.
