Akila Karanja, RN, MSN, FNP-C completed her training at the Indiana University at South Bend Graduate School of Nursing in South Bend, Indiana, and is licensed in the state of Indiana as an Advanced Practice Nurse. Akila is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the Bethel College School of Nursing. Akila is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
Dr. Amina Maisoon, DO completed her family medicine residency training at the UHS Wilson Hospital located in Binghamton, New York, and is a licensed physician in the state of Indiana. She is board certified in family medicine and is a fellow of the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). Dr. Maisoon is a graduate of Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in New York City, New York where she completed her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Doctoral Degree. She is also certified in Basic Life Support (BLS). Dr. Maisoon is an experienced family physician who has practiced in both hospital and clinical settings Improving the quality of care for minority and low-income populations.
Tamara McCoy is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Indiana. She is a graduate of Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan, with 10 years of experience in the field of mental health. In addition to working as a Behavioral Health Provider at IHC, she is an adjunct instructor at Indiana University with experience in private practice.
From her native island of Barbados to the Hoosier state of Indiana, the burden on her heart has always been for the underserved. She is passionate about the field of mental health, specializing in the areas of trauma and crisis, anxiety, depression and women’s issues. Outside of work, Tamara enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, working out, traveling, and trying different foods.
Dr. Steven Obert, D.C., has been in practice for nearly 25 years. He graduated from Logan College of Chiropractic, is certified in extremity adjusting, and is trained in Cox Flexion-Distraction to help those with lumbar disc problems. A a student, he gained experience as well by working for a doctor. "Being in chiropractic school opened my eyes to how far-reaching chiropractic is in terms of being able to help with someone with their overall health, and not just relieve their back pain."
Soneka Wynter, RN DNP, FNP-C completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice at Valparaiso University Graduate School of Nursing in Valparaiso, Indiana, and is licensed in the state of Indiana as an Advanced Practice Nurse. Soneka is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Pace University in Pleasantville, New York. Soneka also holds a Certificate of Midwifery from the Lusaka School of Midwifery in Lusaka, Central Zambia. Soneka is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association.
