Amie Brunner joined the IHC team in March 2020 as the Nurse Manager at IHC Jackson County and became practice manager in March 2021. She was in the Army National Guard for seven years and served as a medic. While in the National Guard, she was able to get both her ASN and BSN in Nursing from Indiana University. Amie completed her Master of Public Health Degree from Indiana State University in 2019 and has previous experience working in the public school system, hospital setting, and medical office setting.
Erin Elizabeth Daniel, MSN, APRN, FNP-C completed her Master of Science in Nursing at Frontier Nursing University in Lexington, Kentucky and is licensed in Indiana and Florida as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. Erin is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She completed her Bachelor of Nursing and Intercultural Studies at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana. Erin is certified in Basic Life Support by the American Heart Association and Neonatal Resuscitation Program by the Academy of Pediatrics. Erin is driven by a calling to care for people of underserved communities, and to make a positive impact on the lives who need it most. She is committed to breaking down barriers to healthcare and providing comprehensive, compassionate treatment to all. Her favorite pastimes include outdoor adventures, reading, and crafting.
Dr. Vaishali Karnik MD, MESc. completed her internal residency training at The Jewish Hospital located in Cincinnati, Ohio, and is a licensed physician in the state of Indiana. Dr. Karnik is a graduate of Saint George’s University School of Medicine located in Saint George’s, Grenada. where she completed her Doctor Medicine Doctoral Degree (MD). Dr. Karnik also holds a Master of Engineering Science (MESc) from Western University located in London, Ontario, Canada, and a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) with Honors in Electrical Engineering from The University of Waterloo located in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. She is also certified in Basic Life Support (BLS). Dr. Karnik is an experienced internal physician who has practiced in both hospital and clinical settings. She is highly committed to delivering exceptional patient care with an emphasis on preventative medicine. Dr. Karnik is devoted to a career in life-long learning.
Lindsay Kasey is a life-long Hoosier, proudly growing up in Kokomo and then settling in Indianapolis after earning a Masters of Social work from Indiana University. Lindsay has built her career as a behavioral health clinician and specializes in treating complex trauma, anxiety, depression, dysregulation and relationship difficulties. In addition to being a licensed clinical social worker, Lindsay also holds a Masters in Health Administration. Along with providing clinical care at IHC Kokomo, she also serves as their Director of Behavioral Health. Outside of work, Lindsay enjoys traveling, hiking, connecting with good food and music, and spending quality time with family.
Melanie Lehr, MSN APRN, FNP-C completed her Master of Science in Nursing at Indiana University Purdue University in Indianapolis, Indiana, and is licensed in the state of Indiana as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. Melanie is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Indiana University Purdue University in Columbus, Indiana. Melanie is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association.
Tabitha D. Pena, MSN FNP-C completed her training at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis Graduate School of Nursing and is licensed in the state of Indiana as an Advanced Practice Nurse. Tabitha is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She is also a member of the Coalition of Advanced Practice Nurses in Indiana (CAPNI). She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Indiana University Purdue University Columbus in Columbus, Indiana. Tabitha is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
Dr. Ahmad Sameer El Sawy Soliman, MD, MRCPCH completed his pediatric residency training at The Brookdale University Hospital Center located in Brooklyn, New York, and is a licensed physician in the state of Indiana. He is a board-certified pediatrician through the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) and has served as a Senior Pediatric Resident with the National Health Services (NHS) at Royal Oldham Hospital in Manchester, United Kingdom, and as a Senior Pediatric Emergency Medicine Resident with the Ministry of Health Sultanate of Oman Sohar Hospital North Batinah Governorate. Dr. Soliman is a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt where he completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery, M.B.B.Ch. He also holds a Diploma in Child Health (DCH International) and membership with the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health in the United Kingdom. Dr. Soliman is also certified in Basic Life Support (BLS). Dr. Soliman is an experienced pediatrician who has practiced in both hospital and clinical settings. He is highly committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
Dr. Austin L. Simmons DMD completed his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) at the University of Louisville and is a licensed dentist in the state of Indiana. He previously graduated on the Honors Roll (Dean’s List) from Utah State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Engineering (BSBE) and is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA). Dr. Simmons believes in conservative and evidence-based dentistry. He strives to provide enjoyable and educational experiences for patients.
Kaitlyn Taylor, MSN, APRN, FNP-C completed her Master of Science in Nursing at University of Southern Indiana in Evansville, Indiana and is licensed in Indiana as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. Kaitlyn is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at University of Evansville in Evansville, Indiana. She spent a semester studying abroad in the United Kingdom where she visited numerous European countries and learned about healthcare across the pond. Kaitlyn is certified in Basic Life Support, Advanced Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and has NIH stroke certification. She also has four years of experience working as a registered nurse in the emergency department of Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. Kaitlyn has a passion for women's health and working in underserved areas. She enjoys spending time with her family and dogs, reading, and traveling.
Dana Weaver, MSN APRN, PMHNP-BC completed her Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville, Indiana, and is licensed in the state of Indiana as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. Dana is board certified as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Indiana University East in Richmond, Indiana and her Associate of Science in Nursing at Ivy Tech Community College in Madison, Indiana. She enjoys the ocean, camping, kayaking, and anything related to nature. Dana is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association.
