Angela Peterson received her Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management from Indiana University South Bend in 1995. She has been in healthcare for 25 years and has experience working in chiropractic and obstetrics/gynecology. She is honored to a part of IHC, providing high quality and affordable healthcare to our community. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family, camping, kayaking, raising chickens, and hunting for morel mushrooms in the spring.
Brandi Brown, APRN, MSN, CPNP completed her masters level training at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Graduate School of Nursing located in Lubbock, Texas and is licensed in the state of Indiana as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN). She also completed her Bachelor of Science in nursing at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Nursing located in Lubbock, Texas. Brandi is board certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board. She is also certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association. Brandi also holds ACLS, PALS, & Neonatal Resuscitation Program certifications. Brandi’s passion and interpersonal skills enable her to effectively communicate and educate her patients. She is an experienced pediatric nurse practitioner with extensive knowledge of neonatal and pediatric populations. Brandi is dedicated to the care of children of all ages.
Dr. Yahya M. El-Shinnawy completed his pediatric residency training and his ambulatory pediatric fellowship training at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. El-Shinnawy is board certified in Pediatrics. He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the American College of International Physicians (ACIP). Dr. El-Shinnawy is a graduate of the University of Khartoum in Khartoum, Sudan, where he completed his medical education. Dr. El-Shinnawy also holds a Masters in Public Health from the University of Illinois at Chicago in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. El-Shinnawy is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Amber Gonzales graduated from Indiana University School of Social Work and is licensed through the Indiana Behavioral Health and Human Services Board. As a lifelong resident of South Bend, Amber is committed to providing quality care to her community. Amber has over 8 years of direct experience with both adults and children, and is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
Amber enjoys nature, and time with her spouse, two sons, and her adored (and spoiled) cats.
Dr. Amina Maisoon, DO completed her family medicine residency training at the UHS Wilson Hospital located in Binghamton, New York, and is a licensed physician in the state of Indiana. She is board certified in family medicine and is a fellow of the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). Dr. Maisoon is a graduate of Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in New York City, New York where she completed her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Doctoral Degree. She is also certified in Basic Life Support (BLS). Dr. Maisoon is an experienced family physician who has practiced in both hospital and clinical settings Improving the quality of care for minority and low-income populations.
Gertrude Mumba-Kaunda, MSN, FNP-C completed her training at the Purdue University Calumet Graduate School of Nursing in Hammond, Indiana and is licensed in the state of Indiana as an Advanced Practice Nurse. Gertrude is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the Indiana University South Bend School of Nursing. Gertrude is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
Dr. Bethany Wait D.O graduated from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency at Memorial Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program. She is board certified in family medicine. She started her career in Goshen, her hometown where she practiced full-spectrum family medicine for 10 years. During the COVID pandemic she led the Elkhart County Health Department as Health Officer for 1 year. The position of Health Officer gave perspective on the critical needs of the underserved community. She came to Indiana Health Centers, to promote health for all in our community. She has been married for 16 years and has two boys aged 8 and 10. In her free time, you will find her gardening, indoor cycling and watching her oldest in swim club.
